Nelson Container uses a machine called “The Beast” which allows for personally customized containers that meet any required need. A few eco-friendly materials “The Beast” can work with are plastic and rubber. Both plastic and rubber can be recycled and reused after the packaging has been shipped out. The beast allows you to customize your package any way you’d like, allowing you to design it to fulfill all your desires. Thus leaving you the ability to make it as eco-friendly as you’d like all while maintaining your needs and ensuring the safety of your products.

We utilize many different eco-friendly materials when constructing our packaging materials to reduce our carbon footprint and make our products more affordable for consumers. Rubber is an easily recycled material that we used to manufacture inner packaging inserts. Plastic is another eco-friendly and food-safe substance that can be used for the construction of packaging. 85% of the corrugated board produced by Nelson Container is recycled. Our company’s owner, Tom Nelson recently published an article on sustainable business practices in the corrugated industry or in any industry. Recycling isn't just our responsibility as stewards of the environment- it’s also a good business sense.

Corrugated Packaging is Becoming Even More Sustainable

The Corrugated Packaging Alliance sent out a press release on October 3, 2023, comparing the environmental impacts of corrugated boxes throughout their life cycle. The study found a 50% reduction in greenhouse gases per unit. The Sustainable Forestry Initiative is an independent non-profit organization that promotes responsible forest management and conservation efforts. The chain-of-custody certification is a system that tracks the flow of wood and paper products from certified, responsibly managed forests through each stage of production, processing, and distribution. This certification provides assurance to consumers that the products they purchase come from sustainable sources, promoting environmental and social responsibility within the forest product supply chain.
